Beepo Prepares Next Gen Programmers For BPO Industry

In early August Beepo paid a visit to a group of Computer Science students at Holy Angel University’s Angeles City campus, to present a Careers Seminar on the BPO industry.

The seminar was held as part of Holy Angel’s ‘Computer Science & Network Administration Day’ celebrations, and aimed to give budding young programmers insight into what it takes to work for an outsourcing company like Beepo.

The group of programmers, affectionately known as LOOP (the League of Outstanding Programmers) were given a virtual tour of Beepo’s facilities by Project Team Leader Michelle Punzalan, and introduced to the core values that are vital to the success of employees and the company.

Beepo’s Programmer extraordinaire Nica Gopez also shared her insights with LOOP members on how to build a rewarding career as a web developer, and what the best practices are that make graduates highly attractive to prospective employers.

Nica also discussed ways for students to improve their communication skills if they want to excel in the BPO industry.

There was plenty of interest shown by the Computer Science students, with an engaging Q&A session held at the end of Michelle and Nica’s presentations.

Both Beepo mentors were buoyed by the student response, and excited by the pathways Beepo is building for the next generation of programmers and developers coming into the industry.

“These seminars, along with Beepo’s internship program provide the first steps in building a strong relationship with universities and colleges in the region. Such partnerships are essential to nurturing local talent and readying students for the BPO industry”, Ms Punzalan said.
