Accountant (Australian Experience)

Overview of the role:

Responsibilities for this role include maintaining records of financial transactions and also analysing and investigating annual and monthly financial accounts. This role is also responsible for preparing budget forecasts. He/she must also having experience working with Australian businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain records of financial transactions
  • Data checking and verification
  • Prepare budget forecast
  • Other bookkeeping and reporting duties as required
  • Conduct bank reconciliations
  • Analyse and investigate annual and monthly financial accounts and make necessary adjustments
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct regular database checking and doing regular data back-ups
  • Undertake financial administration
  • Accounts payable and receivable management
  • Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Assist in computing taxes owed, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements when required
  • Report to management regarding the finances of the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A degree in Accountancy, ideally CPA or CPA qualified
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in Australian accounting
  • A great understanding of Australian tax laws and financial accounts
  • Experience with any Australian accounting systems e.g. Xero
  • Experience in general ledger functions
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and Google Apps
  • Must have strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and with strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
