Interviews can be nerve-wracking, especially if it’s the final interview or what we call the client interview. These types of interviews sometimes can either make or break your application. What if we told you that it’s possible to impress your prospective hiring manager and get that dream job you’ve always wanted?

Let Lamey our Senior Real Estate Trainer here at Beepo give you her top five tips on how to ace a client interview.

TIP #1 LOOSEN UP A BIT AND RELAX!

Remember in a client interview, clients are usually casual and the first question often asked is “tell me something about yourself?”. To answer this question, don’t be afraid to loosen up and relax. The main goal of this starter question is for the client to get an idea of the applicant’s personality and attitude.

While the interview is a bit informal, ensure that your answers are related to the question and avoid answers that may be misunderstood by the client.

TIP #2 TURN YOUR NERVOUSNESS INTO EXCITEMENT

Never let your nerves get the best of you so turn that nervous energy of yours into enthusiasm. Being nervous will make you uncomfortable and unable to answer clearly.

Just keep your cool and think about your answers and you’ll get through your interview, calm and collected.

TIP #3 TAILOR YOUR ANSWERS AND AVOID USING CANNED ANSWERS

Make yourself stand out by providing topics that are related to your personal and professional experience and if possible provide specific examples.

TIP #4 DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTION

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Clients appreciate you asking questions because it shows that you are interested in the role you’re applying for, as well as the organization.

Additionally, you can mirror your queries to fit with the questions that they have asked you – this demonstrates you’ve listened and are engaged in what they have said.

TIP #5 BE HONEST

This tip is simple and yet effective. By being honest you aren’t overselling yourself to your potential hiring manager. Should there be a part of the job description that you are not familiar with and show them that you are eager to learn.

Honesty goes a long way in an interview and also shows your interviewer that you are sincere and you are open to learning new skills.
