IT Support with CISCO L2/L3

Overview of the role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain networks created by Cisco. They are also required to troubleshoot issues, ensure network security, create and configure networks and provide technical support.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Configure and troubleshoot customer technical issues
  • Configure and troubleshoot issues with various small to medium network infrastructure such as firewalls, routers and switches such as Cisco, Mikrotik RouterOS, ASUS, etc
  • Configure and troubleshoot IP telephony hardware
  • Build rapport with the customers by providing prompt issue resolution
  • Understand customer’s needs by actively listening and asking the right probing questions
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalations of unresolved issues
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Document knowledge in department process documentation
  • Upskill by participating in training, reading technical job aids and any other relevant material.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • A graduate of BS in information technology or related
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Background in telco, IT or network industries would be an advantage
  • Preferably Cisco CCNA Certified
  • Knowledge in internet troubleshooting and administration
  • Understanding of wireless networking, TCP/IP, remote administration tools and techniques
  • Strong networking experience supporting and troubleshooting various internet network issues
  • Experience supporting internet connectivity in Windows and Mac OS, as well as mobile products
  • Sound decision making and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances
  • Able to quickly identify problems, form solutions and execute step-by-step troubleshooting procedures
  • Able to think logically and analytically to solve problem quickly
  • Self-motivated and with a strong sense of accountability.
