Accounts Assistant (Australian Background)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Fund Accounting, including data entry of all account payments, receivables, journals, transfers, loans, interest, rental income and expenses for all of the company’s Syndicates and Managed Investments Schemes
  • Assisting with Accounts Payable - ensuring timely, accurate and efficient account payments (including preparing cheque requisitions)
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable – ensuring timely invoicing and receivables
  • Trust Account Compliance – lodging bonds, quick disbursements etc
  • Intercompany loan interest calculations and reconciliations
  • Assist with account set ups and paperwork including administering online banking modules
  • Monthly management and annual reporting, including data entry for trusts, syndicates and corporate entities
  • Assist with monthly and annual tax reporting, including BAS returns and Payroll Tax
  • Back-up for Trust Accountant and Assistant Accountant
  • Prepare and process quarterly fund distributions and remittances
  • Documenting policies and procedures from time to time
  • Additional tasks or duties as directed by CFO or Senior Accountant
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Accounting or related
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping experience in both local and Australian setting
  • Understanding of Australian Tax framework, e.g. GST, income tax etc
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Apps
  • Experience in any Accounting software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work autonomously, accountable and can own tasks
  • Willing to take on new tasks as role progresses, adaptable to any change and can work in a complex structure
