Mortgage Broker Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with customers via phone and email to collect details (fact find and budget) and documents for loan assessment. Good written and verbal communication is therefore needed.
  • Liaise with banks and other agents to assist in preparing loan application. This includes ordering valuations and credit report. Running loan scenario with banks staff.
  • Assess credit worthiness of each loan. This includes understanding client’s goal in getting loan, interpreting details and documents provided by clients. Putting loan application together ready for submission with bank. This includes detail loan servicing calculations. A credit assessment background is desirable but not essential.
  • Will need to be able to self-manage workflow of over 50 files/loans per month. Roughly output over 2-3 loans per working day.
  • End to end process for all loan till settlement.
  • Attend online training sessions as provided by our lenders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team development – Improving internal task and procedures.
  • Adhere to various legal, compliance, credit and customer service standards.
  
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A finance / accounting background or degree is desirable but not essential.
  • A loan credit assessment background is desirable but not essential.
  • Sound Australian credit knowledge and regulatory requirements is desirable but not essential.
  • Honest, reliable and hardworking is essential.
  • Strong problem solving, and mathematic skills is required. Think outside square and a strong desire to solving problem is required for this position.
  • Strong communication skill (verbal and written) is required. You will be required to deal with clients via email and phone.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to self-manage and work under pressure is important.
  • Good computer skills is desirable.
