Paid Media Analyst/PPC Specialist (Search Ads and Facebook Ads)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead themselves, be accountable, be positive and take pride in their work
  • Take ownership over the delivery of all client approved targets in Facebook and Google Search
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with the team via phone / video conference
  • Ensure all campaign activity is managed within budget through careful pacing
  • Develop campaign insights and optimisation recommendations for all live activities to be shared with the Performance Manager for Approval
As part of the optimisation process, comfortable reviewing the following:
Search
  • Pacing: Control of spend
  • Campaign budget: Can budgets be moved between campaigns to ensure more effective delivery
  • Bid strategy status: Ensure delivery and optimisations are effective
  • Ad Status: Are there any rejections that need to be addressed
  • Campaign Performance: Are there opportunities to upweight better performing campaigns
  • Device: Is performance impacted based on device type. Can budget be used more effectively
  • Location: Look at volume and performance to see if there are opportunities
  • Share of Voice : Have competitors entered the auction, is it impacting our SOV and do we need to adapt
  • CPC: Can CPC be moved up or down to capture more volume
  • Day Parting: Are time of day/day of week performance trends captured in the bid modifiers
  • Conversion Rate: Are there opportunities to improve CVR or upweight higher converting campaigns
  • Ad-Copy / CTR: Are certain ads or campaigns driving a better click through rate and can budget be used more effectively
  • ROAS: Are certain campaigns driving a better ROAS and are there opportunities to upweight
  • Daily Budget Caps: Are high performing campaigns reaching their daily budget cap and can money be reinvested in these campaigns to capitalise on demand
 
Facebook
  • Pacing: Control of spend
  • Check Ad Set Delivery is Active: Are learnings limited or ads rejected
  • Check Ad Delivery: Are there any rejections that need to be addressed
  • Check Ad Quality Ranking: Can AQR be improved to deliver a better result
  • Check reach and frequency: Are we delivering reach objectives? Is frequency too high?
  • Check cost per result: Are we hitting forecast, if not what can be optimised?
  • Check for low performing ads: Optimise toward better creative
  • Optimise ad schedule based on day: Can we minimise wasted ad spend if a particular day produces poor results
  • Optimise ad schedule based on time of day: Can we minimise wasted ad spend if particular time of day produces poor results
  • Correctly implement all agreed and approved optimisations across live activity
  • Prepare any required text only ad copy ie. search or social for approval
  • Support the team as requested or identify opportunities to support the team in any way that will lead to a positive client outcome
  • QA the end to end set-up of campaign activity in search and social
  • Launch campaign activity and prepare and share a channel by channel live update within 24 hours
  • Provide a positive and productive contribution to internal WIPs
  • Provide active upward management to ensure Performance Marketing Manager is informed on project and client progress and performance
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Marketing or related
  • At least 3 to 5 years experience, capable of managing paid search (PPC) and Paid Facebook.  Both channels focused on conversion ie. customer acquisition, leads, app downloads and similar
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate ideas, strategies and results in written and verbal form. Also, an ability to ask questions to speed up action and avoid wasting time figuring something out
  • Strong Search (PPC) and Facebook experience. An individual capable of taking ownership over paid search and Facebook programs including the review and analysis of performance, identifying optimisation opportunities, presenting clear and validating optimisations to the team and then executing the approved recommendations
  • Acquisition Experience. An individual with strong performance / acquisition focused experience
  • Slide / Content development: An individual capable of pulling together clear and accurate campaign performance reviews (in slide format)
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to work toward an outcome
