Project-Based Underwriting Admin Assistant (General Insurance)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Financial Lines Underwriting team members
  • Preparing new and renewal quotes and all relevant documentation
  • Screening submissions and drafting raters
  • Liaising with underwriting team on final terms
  • Completing bound business processes including creating client folders
  • Ensuring all documentation is saved and correct
  • Drafting Policy Schedules and Certificates of Currency
  • Daily maintenance of internal insurance database systems
  • Maintaining renewal registers and all related correspondence
  • Entering bound policies on monthly written bordereaux reports
  • Ensuring bordereaux reports incorporate all written business (bound and endorsements) and reconciling against broker closings
  • Working alongside Finance team members to resolve payment reconciliation queries and chasing outstanding debtors
  • Assisting with broker queries
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Business, Finance or related
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge or exposure to General Insurance
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills particularly MS Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to details and problem solving ability
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and able to be assertive in role when required
  • High level of business acumen
  • Demonstrated track record of showing initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to work within compliance framework and allocated authority limits
  • Effective time management and the ability to be self-motivated
